STORY BEHIND THE DISH:

My dad, Alfred Wiemers, always enjoyed these cookies. He liked the cinnamon because he liked raisins, and he loved the smell of the cinnamon while they were baking.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
1 cup raisins
1 cup butter or lard (Oleo)
2 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs
2 level tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda in 2 Tbl sour cream or evaporated milk (no soda w/ sweet cream)
3 cups flour
1 cup pecans
pinch of salt

DIRECTIONS:

Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, then soda mixture. In a separate bowl, combine cinnamon, baking powder, flour, and salt. Add pecans and raisins. Combine butter and egg mixture with the dry ingredients. Drop about 3/4 tsp dough on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 deg F for 10-12 min.
